(Wendy (Jayne) this is for you!)
It’s been a crazy couple of months! There’s been so much going on and I know you like to hear all about what’s going on, on a personal level so here’s the dirt!
November had a bit of a shaky start, someone crashed in to my car, on the motorway of all places. It wasn’t so bad because we were stuck in traffic, but theres still damage to my car that’s only just getting fixed! It’s been an absolute ball ache dealing with insurance and solicitors and various phone call appointments. So, one thing I don’t recommend is getting in a car crash, and the second thing I don’t recommend, is rear ending someone on the motorway, or anywhere for that matter! Pay attention when you drive!!!!
Other than that things have been fairly good! My new job is going so well and whilst i’ve not really made any friends yet (Other than Mikey who’s on a different shift pattern to me), everyone is mostly really nice, and I find myself laughing quite a bit at the shenanigans that go on! I’m really enjoying it and i’m hitting my targets too! Not only that, but i’m working so hard that i’m practically working out and losing weight! #WinWin
The 11th of November has been and gone, and while it’s remembrance day, it’s also the day my Grandma passed away 6 years ago. It feels both so much longer yet only two minutes since she passed away. I vividly remember being up until four waiting with my mum, brother and cousin for my dad to come home and break the news. I remember bursting in to tears and being dumbfounded by my brother reaction, which was to get up and make a coffee. I understand it now though.
I still miss my grandma, a lot. We all do. But i’m really at peace with the fact that she died having lived her life to the full and being ready to leave the earth and move on the bigger and better things. The 11th of November will always be a day I remember for a number of reasons, but it’s not a sad day.
My hair has started falling out a little bit recently but i’m not worried about it. If it happens it happens and I don’t want to get in to the vicious cycle of stressing about it which makes it fall out more which makes me stress more! That being said I also really don’t want to be bald again! So, you guys will probably be seeing more of my hat range, though mostly just because it’s getting bloody cold!
Which brings us nicely on to the fact IT’S NEARLY CHRISTMAS! I’m so excited! I love Christmas and I’ve already been tagged in the winter tag which you can read here! I love Love Love giving people gifts that make them happy! Although my bank account doesn’t like it so much hahaha! While I love giving presents, I suck at being organised so if you’re getting a gift this year, it might well be a new years gift rather than a Christmas one! I’m also super rubbish at wrapping so most kudos for wrapping will be going to my mum as per usual!
I’ve been to York to meet people who didn’t show up until later when I was on the way home (Due to miscommunication/Lack of organisation) which is a bit tragic but I actually had a really nice time, I got friendly with a coffee and a book and a cosy seat in Starbucks as well as getting a new identity – I’m now called Betty if you didn’t already know!
And besides, York is a really beautiful place so I enjoyed my afternoon there, even if it was spent alone. A bit of peace and quiet never hurt anyone did it! and I did get some cute pictures..
This past month or so, I’ve been getting really involved with the twitter blogging community and honestly they’re such an amazing, inspiring friendly and KIND bunch of people! There’s also some unbelievably funny people too! I often find myself replying to a tweet thread with several laughing crying faces and just giggling at my phone probably looking like a loon! you should 100% check them out so some of their twitter handles are below!
There’s just four people there but there’s so, so many more I could list! We’d be here for ever!
Recently I read a book called ‘This Is Going To Hurt’ by Adam Kay and honestly guys, it’s mind blowing! I devoured it in all of two days (one of which was the afternoon in York) it’s breathtaking, heartbreaking, Laugh – out – loud funny and actually, educational! When I was telling my friend about the book she was like “Hold up, You NEVER read books like that!?” and she’s right I don’t, which is why you should absolutely take my word for it and read it!!
Here’s the blurb.
Welcome to the life of a junior doctor: 97-hour weeks, life and death decisions, a constant tsunami of bodily fluids, and the hospital parking meter earns more than you.
Scribbled in secret after endless days, sleepless nights and missed weekends, Adam Kay’s This is Going to Hurt provides a no-holds-barred account of his time on the NHS front line. Hilarious, horrifying and heartbreaking, this diary is everything you wanted to know – and more than a few things you didn’t – about life on and off the hospital ward.
Adam Kay is unapologetically honest in this book and you get such a sense of his personality through his writing, it’s brilliant! Let me know if you read it and tell me what you think!
Last night at he county social, the WYS global team that I’m apart of got our merch IE t shirts/hoodies/gilets and I am SO happy with it, as I’m sure you all already know because it’s all over my social media!
Lastly, it wouldn’t be a blog post by me if I didn’t mention CrossFit would it! I’ve been LOVING it this month, on both a physical working out sense and a social sense. Jack and Katy are just brilliant. At the beginning of November I felt a bit stressed and didn’t really know what to do with myself, I went down to the box, sat and had a cuppa and a chat with them and I felt so, so much better afterwards. I mean they didn’t make a grand gesture or anything, but it made a real difference just being there. So, thank you guys!!
Well, I think that’s enough about me! what have you been up to?!
Here’s to Christmas!
